construction san joseEmployed with Barry Swenson Builder since 1980, as a Project Manager and now Vice President, with his highly skilled staff, Ron has successfully completed a wide range of new commercial, commercial rehabilitation, high density residential, senior housing and historical restoration projects.

Listed below are some of these projects which include structural and architectural rehabilitations of un-reinforced masonry buildings, three (3) of which are on the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Historic Registry of places to visit, a CCRC retirement campus, and new high-density housing projects.

LEVARE @ Santana Row, 108 Luxury Apartments at Santana Row in San Jose, CA.  Design-Build agreement with Federal Realty Investment Trust

Hayes Mansion, Hotel and Conference Center in South San Jose (Structurally and Architecturally rehabilitated a 40,000 square foot unreinforced masonry turn of the century mansion into a conference center with two dining rooms and one large commercial kitchen)

De Anza Hotel in San Jose (Structurally and Architecturally rehabilitated a ten-story circa 1929 hotel, into a modern 101-room hotel with 2-restaurants, conference rooms & commercial kitchen)

St. James Hotel (Moir Building) in San Jose (Structurally and Architecturally rehabilitated this three-story unreinforced masonry circa 1889 hotel, into law offices with an open 3-story atrium)

Saratoga Retirement Community, a 37-acre CCRC Project (Completed Phase I and Phase II)

Skyline at Tamien Station, New 11-Story Landmaker™ Structure with 121 Residential Units which includes 6 townhomes and high-rise apartment units.  The project is Phase I of II and sits immediatly adjacnt the Tamien Light Rail and CalTrain Station.  

Versailles Senior Housing, New 5-Story In-Fill Concrete Structure over 2-Levels of below gradeparking for 61 High-End, For Sale Residential Units

 

In addition to rehabilitation projects and high-density residential projects, Ron has constructed numerous office buildings and “big box” warehouses using all five of the building types; from woodframe to structural steel and structural concrete (low rise and high rise), for clients including: General Electric Nuclear Systems, Siemens, State Compensation Insurance Fund, Federal Express, FedEx Ground,Marriott Hotels, The Odd Fellows Homes of California, Pacific Retirement Services, Gordon-Biersch Brewery, Cal State Universities, City of San Jose and San Jose Redevelopment Agency. He has also been responsible for, and overseen the construction of many high end and very intricate tenant improvements. Ron and his staff of top notch and team-oriented professionals are geared for value engineering and fast tracking projects in order to meet an owner’s budget and demanding schedule. With a meticulous eye for detail, he directs his team members in creating a superior finished product. Ron is respected by architects, engineers, developers, and other general and specialty contractors for his proactive approach, detailed knowledge and proven skills in the rehabilitation / renovation of existing buildings as well as new construction projects. Ron earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from San José State University, holds a General Contractor’s “B” License from the State of California and is a Member of the USGBC.
