After graduating with honors from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with degrees in Construction and Architectural Engineering (structural engineering), David joined Barry Swenson Builder. He is currently licensed as both a General Contractor and a Real Estate Broker. David has earned the respect of his clients, subcontractors, consultants, and co-workers because of his high degree of integrity, construction expertise, his ability to work with others, and to administer even the most complex of projects.
Over the past thirty (30) years David has been responsible for the construction and/or development of hundreds of projects, totaling in excess of $1 Billion, with an excellent record of on-time and within-budget completion. He has developed expertise in historical rehabilitation and renovation and new construction of commercial, industrial, residential, retail and medical facilities.
David manages a team of skilled project managers and superintendents. Members of this outstanding staff have degrees in construction management and architecture and civil engineering, in addition to extensive experience supervising a wide variety of projects. Working together as a team, they are capable of constructing the most complex of projects within the specified budget and on schedule. Some of the resources at their disposal are state-of-the-art project management and scheduling computer programs and techniques, and an extensive database of project costs. Mr. Gibbons incorporates state of the art project management, computer driven scheduling, and projected cost analysis and breakdown.
David has long been a proponent of establishing a "TEAM" relationship between the Barry Swenson Builder staff, the owner, and the project designers. Working together provides an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual understanding, through which everyone wins. David's goal on every project built by Barry Swenson Builder is to deliver the highest quality construction by promoting a sense of pride in every team member.
