Safety First in our Building

During the original construction remodel of 1900 The Alameda, Smoke Guard Doors were added to protect against any smoke that might come through the elevators.  In the event of a fire, the Smoke Guard Doors roll open and cover each of the elevators.  They seal the elevators shut to prevent smoke from traveling into the Suites.  If a passenger is inside the elevator at this time, it is easy for a person to push open the door and walk through - the Smoke Guard Door will automatically shut.
